Doctors CouncilDoctors Council Attends Mississippi Freedom Summer 50th Anniversary
Doctors Council 1st Vice President / Executive Director Matthews Hurley, M.D. attended the Freedom Summer 50th anniversary summit in Jackson, Mississippi, a week-long conference on prior and current civil rights issues.
Special speakers included Danny Glover, Dick Gregory, Harry Belafonte, and Robert Moses, among others.
Dr. Hurley’s role included volunteering with other SEIU members in the medical stations, providing first aid medical services to conference participants throughout the weekend.
