Statement of Doctors Council SEIU President Frank Proscia, M.D. on the Supreme Court Legalizing Gay Marriage Nationwide

Doctors Council SEIU celebrates today’s decision by the Supreme Court striking down bans on same-sex marriage and providing all Americans with the rights to marry. Marriage equality is a human right regardless of sexual orientation. LGBT Americans should be treated equally and with dignity across all 50 states. We believe the full recognition of same-sex marriage across the country will help LGBT families secure access to healthcare benefits.
