ADVISORY FOR 9/24: Doctors Rally at Queens Hospital to Address NYC’s Move to Slash Patient Care Time

On Tuesday, September 24 at 12 PM ET, attending physicians represented by Doctors Council SEIU will hold a rally at Queens Hospital Center to raise alarm over NYC Health + Hospital's (H+H) decision to slash new patient visit times from 40 minutes to just 20 minutes.

This harmful policy change was made without input from frontline healthcare workers and, as of September 16, has been implemented system-wide, including at Gotham Health and other H+H ambulatory care facilities.

Attending Physicians, who are also engaged in a contract dispute with H+H, are gravely concerned about the impact on staff morale and, most importantly, patient safety across the NYC public healthcare system. At the rally, doctors will speak on the urgency of reversing these cuts to protect both patients and healthcare workers. They will also demand that Mayor Adams step in to ensure H+H invests in safe staffing and retention so New Yorkers receive the quality care they deserve.
